Christian music artist Michael W. Smith performs at George H.W. Bush funeral

BATAVIA, Ill., Dec. 6, 2018 – Family and friends of  President George H. W. Bush’s funeral on Wednesday were serenaded by Grammy Award-winning Christian singer-songwriter Michael W. Smith.

A recent Christian Broadcasting Network video interview with Smith spoke of his relationship with President Bush and his request to sing his 1982 song “Friends.”  The CBN interview noted that Bush had said to Smith three month ago said: ‘Friends are friends forever.’

The artist in October appeared at Wheaton College for a fund-raiser and also presented this song.
