WESTERN CHICAGO SUBURB, Ill.,  April 14, 2020 — Yesterday, Aurora’s Hesed House homeless shelter moved to a new undisclosed location with the help of volunteers, staff, Kane Sheriff’s personnel, and the State of Illinois Department of Public Health. Busloads came with 20 individuals per bus from the Aurora shelter to the new location in buses driven by KC employees.

The shelter hotel was leased by the State of Illinois to help the residents keep “social distance” during this COVID-19 crisis.

Hesed House moves under the direction of Ryan Dowd.

Hesed House Executive Direction Ryan Dowd and Kane County Sheriff Ron Hain expressed deep appreciation in a Monday YouTube video, shot at the new hotel site.

Dowd closed his summary video by presenting three areas of need at the moment and in the near future.

  • Prayer
  • Donations – monetary (www.hesedhouse.org)
  • Donations of individual food items (cereal, puddings, apple sauce, bag snacks, etc.)
