"Ten Lessons for a Post-Pandemic World"
Aurora University to host CNN journalist
AURORA, Ill., Sept. 9, 2021 — Fareed Zakaria, host of CNN Worldwide’s “Fareed Zakaria GPS,” will speak at Aurora University Monday, Sept. 13.
Zakaria will explore “Ten Lessons for a Post-Pandemic World” at 7:30 p.m. in Crimi Auditorium at AU’s Institute for Collaboration, 1347 Prairie St. in Aurora. The commentator’s program is part of AU’s 2021-2022 Celebrating Arts and Ideas series, reopening after a hiatus last year due to the pandemic.

In addition to hosting “Fareed Zakaria GPS,” Zakaria is a Washington Post columnist, The Atlantic contributing editor and a best selling author. Prior to CNN, he edited Newsweek International, was managing editor of Foreign Affairs, a Time Magazine columnist and host of PBS’ “Foreign Exchange with Fareed Zakaria.”
Series dates and artists are subject to change. Face coverings are required indoors for everyone on campus, regardless of vaccinated status. Aurora University reserves the right to add additional safety measures based on current local and state guidelines for the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The Celebrating Arts and Ideas series opened Sept. 7 with “Curious by Nature: Works by Charley and Edie Harper” at the Schingoethe Center museum, 1315 Prairie St. in Aurora. Free to the public, the 80-piece exhibit runs to Dec. 10.

–AU’s Music Department presents its annual Christmas concert Sunday, Dec. 5, at 3 and 7:30 p.m. in Crimi Auditorium, 1347 Prairie St. in Aurora.
–“The Majesty of the Spiritual” by Robert Sims and Friends Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. in Crimi Auditorium, 1347 Prairie St. in Aurora.
–“eARTh tones” and Works by Alice Hargrave exhibit Jan. 25-April 29, 2022 at the Schingoethe Center museum, opening reception 5-6:30 p.m. Jan. 25, 2022
–“Washington Insights and Perspective From Behind the Scenes” by Chris Wallace, “Fox News Sunday” host, at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 14, at Crimi Auditorium, 1347 Prairie St. in Aurora. The sponsor is the Delbert and Barbara Arsenault Lectureship.
–“The SpongeBob Musical” by AU’s Theatre Department at 7:30 p.m. March 25–26 and March 30–April 2, 2022 and 2:30 p.m. Sundays, March 27 and April 3, 2022, at Perry Theatre, 349 S. Gladstone Ave. in Aurora.
–AU Music Department’s annual spring concert is 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Crimi Auditorium, 1347 Prairie St. in Aurora.
