Clinics scheduled in four neighborhoods
VNA, City of Aurora Collaborate to Take Vaccines Directly to Neighborhoods
AURORA, lll., July 22, 2021 — Today, VNA Health Care announced a new collaboration with the City of Aurora to help bring
COVID-19 vaccinations directly to those in need. This effort to vaccinate residents right where they live, work
and play is part of VNA’s broader vaccination efforts that include administering vaccines at their 16 clinics
across the Chicago suburbs and providing vaccines in homes and at workplaces, schools, churches and other
community settings by request. With a focus on vaccine equity and increasing vaccination rates among
underserved communities, VNA has administered more than 50,000 COVID vaccinations to date.
“The most important thing people can do to keep themselves, their loved ones and their community safe from
COVID-19 is get vaccinated, and VNA is pleased to partner with the City of Aurora once again to provide
vaccinations right in Aurora neighborhoods,” said Linnea Windel, President and CEO of VNA Health Care. “We
hope that by meeting people right where they are, we can remove barriers to vaccination access and get shots
into the arms of those who haven’t yet been vaccinated.”
In partnership with the City of Aurora, VNA will be providing first doses of the COVID vaccine to walk-in
patients with no pre-registration necessary at the following times and locations.
● July 23 from 2pm – 6pm: Fox Valley Flea Market; 1500 E. New York Street, Aurora, IL
● July 26 from 11:30am – 3:30pm: McCleery Elementary School; 1002 W. Illinois, Aurora, IL
● August 3 from 5pm – 8pm: National Night Out; 551 Fourth Ave. Aurora, IL
● August 4 from 3pm – 6pm: Family Focus; 2550 2nd Avenue, Aurora, IL
“While we have made significant progress in our local vaccination efforts, the pandemic is still a serious
reality,” said Aurora Mayor Richard C. Irvin. “As the virus and its variants are causing an increase in positivity
rates, we must recommit to increasing our vaccination efforts in Aurora, with a hyper local approach. Once
again, VNA Health Care has answered the call by launching mobile vaccination efforts in neighborhoods
throughout the city. We all must step up before we have to step back into restrictions and mitigations that none
of us want to revisit.”
Second doses will be scheduled at a VNA clinic most convenient for the individuals.
