According to the district’s weekly e-newsletter, nearly $1,000 was raised to give 19 District 129 students in need a happy holiday season through the Angel Tree Project.

Additionally, numerous winter accessories were collected and donated to Maddies’ Mitten March. Madeline Bozik of North Aurora, a 2017 West Aurora graduate, founded and directs the nonprofit that collects clothing and monetary donations to aid needy Kane County residents.

Bozik, a mechanical engineering major at Bradley University in Peoria, uses two buses to collect, store and distribute coats, gloves, mittens, scarves, hats and boots. For more, visit mittenmobile.com/donate.
