People of faith Should work together against Radical Ideologies

LOMBARD, Ill., April 28, 2019 – Salam Christian Fellowship (SCF) and our community of faith are saddened by the shooting at yet another house of worship.

This time yet again our Jewish brethren in a Synagogue in San Diego, California were senselessly gunned down because of irrational hatred.

When places of worship are being targeted where people gather to worship, we as a society must take pause and reflect on what is driving ignorance and hatred. The current atmosphere of political and ideological polarization, as well as Antisemitism is motivating the violence against religious minorities throughout the world and especially in our country. People with extreme ideologies are committing these heinous crimes against innocent people which we have now seen taking place in Pittsburgh, New Zealand and Sri Lanka and now in San Diego.

At this time SCF calls upon local law enforcement to help secure all places of worship during Friday, Saturday, and Sunday prayers.

We pray for the victims of this hate attack and call for people of faith to come together and work against the speech and radical ideologies that foments these acts.

The SCF is a dynamic charitable, religious, social, cultural and educational organization. Its mission is to share the love of Christ with Muslims and Middle Eastern immigrants in the greater Chicagoland area.  SCF helps Muslim refugees and new immigrants acculturate and assimilate in the American community. SCF offers English as a Second Language (ESL), employment, and provides a surrogate ethnic community for them.

SCF works with local churches in order to empower the most vulnerable people from the Middle East and North Africa and help them to be transformed economically, socially, and spiritually.
