MONTGOMERY, Ill., March 4, 2019–Women are invited to learn about Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity’s fourth annual Women Build at an information breakfast 9 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at Riverview Diner, 1420 SE River Rd. in Montgomery.

Women 18 and older are invited. Admission and breakfast are free. Julie Clark, Habitat volunteer coordinator, said details will be provided about the Women Build May 9-11 at 823 Gillette Ave. in Aurora.

Clark said 20 women per day  are sought for the 2019 build. Individuals and teams of six women are invited. Participants are asked to donate $250 per day for building materials.

According to Clark, the information breakfast will also celebrate International Women’s Day.

She said,”Women Build is Habitat for Humanity’s program that empowers women to learn construction skills, build homes, and build communities.

“Volunteers come together from all walks of life to build stronger and safer communities. Women and children make up the majority of people populating Habitat neighborhoods, as they are the most likely to be affected by poor living conditions.

“Women Build events provide the opportunity for women to take a proactive step in serving their communities,” Clark said.

Volunteers will receive a Women Build t-shirt, catered lunch on site, personalized fundraising website and office support.

To RSVP for the breakfast or for more information, contact Clark at (630)206-5034 or j.clark@foxvalleyhabitat.org.
